Kryoyo is a start-up trying to position a new concept in the Caribbean tourism market. We helped them with an atmospheric website full of useful features for both tourists and hosts!

The challenge of Kryoyo

Kryoyo.com is the website where you can book experiences on Caribbean islands. Kryoyo focuses on high-quality experiences in the Caribbean, in collaboration with the local community. Compared to competitor Airbnb, Kryoyo wants to focus on a more personal experience that adds value for both tourists and the local community.

This led to the desire for a user-friendly website with a matching brand identity. The website had to be suitable for both tourists and hosts who want to share their experiences. For start-ups like Kryoyo, it's also always important and challenging to keep costs under control.

Solutions

Our approach

For this project, we chose together with Kryoyo to use the MVP (Minimum Viable Product) strategy, combined with the Scrum methodology. This way, a working product could be launched quickly to gather feedback. Then it was easy to adjust course, and we were able to focus on the right developments that respond to user needs, based on this market feedback. By not developing unnecessary features, we kept costs under control.

Together with Kryoyo, we developed their idea into a brand identity where you can taste the Caribbean atmosphere. We placed extra emphasis on user-friendliness for both tourists and hosts who want to share their offerings. In addition to the brand identity, we also developed a logo, brochure, and business card.

We also thought about how to automate the booking and cancellation process so that Kryoyo's editorial team has less administrative work. We also developed a fully customized integration with payment partner cxpay.global. This allows bookings to be easily paid with payment options such as credit card, iDEAL, PayPal, etc.

An advanced feature to help tourists find the right experiences. Through Help me plan, it's possible to answer specific questions with additional explanation and thereby offer a personalized selection.

Availability check

Availability check - through the database, Hosts indicate the availability of their experience(s). During checkout, it's verified whether this is actually available. A confirmation is also requested from the Host to definitively confirm.

User features

Through the Suitcase (shopping cart), a tourist can add and pay for multiple bookings at once. Users can create an account to view the status of their bookings, and reviews are automatically requested after a booked experience; after which they automatically appear on the website.
