What is front-end?

Front-end is the part of a website or app that is visible to the user. If back-end development is the engine, then front-end is the hood and the way it's mounted. Similar terms are user interface (UI) or user interface.

In a webshop, for example, the part where the visitor uses and where the products are on the site is the front-end. The underlying database and the CRM system containing all the data of the products and customers form the back-end.

A front-end developer is involved in designing, programming, testing, and implementing the part of the website that is visible to visitors.

This takes into account various aspects, such as user-friendliness, loading times, compatibility with different devices and resolutions; everything needed for a well-functioning website. SEO is also an important part of front-end development. Your texts may be well written, but if Google can't read them due to wrong technique or an illogical site layout, you still won't get far.
