Challenge

The challenge of Young Dedicated

The shortage in the labor market is only getting bigger, and due to the high pressure to find staff, mismatches are occurring more often; people are hired for positions they're not suited for, hoping they'll eventually be able to perform the role.

YoungDedicated is driven by the idea of recruiting from the candidate's perspective rather than the company's. "I really believe that when you recruit from the candidate's perspective, you naturally attract good candidates," says Ransder. "You always need good people, even outside of a crisis. And to recruit good people, it's important to put the candidate at the center."

Partly due to corona, it became necessary to digitalize much more. To also radiate this philosophy digitally, Ransder needed a website. He started a collaboration with Get Interactive to digitalize the candidate experience with a website and beautiful job pages.

To recruit good people, it's important to put the candidate at the center.
Ransder - Young Dedicated

When corona started, Ransder didn't yet have a job page or a digital presence that aligned with his philosophy of thinking from the candidate's perspective. "Then I would post a vacancy on Facebook or LinkedIn, or put it out on a job site. I didn't have a central place where I could bring my own philosophy back".
In the market, Ransder saw more and more visual job pages emerging. These came not only from marketers or recruiters who were following the trend, but also from employers like bol.com and Coolblue. Many large employers nowadays have a separate 'work at' section or even a full-fledged career website, completely set up for recruiting candidates and visualizing the application process.

"It's simply the future. I try to keep up but also improve. What does bol.com do well? What's the approach and which adjustments and improvements are relevant for me to implement?"
Online Marketing and using the large job boards to recruit clients are a strategy, but often not enough. So we got to work with a brand new website for Ransder to translate his philosophy for YoungDedicated online, including the necessary visually-oriented job pages.

Solutions

Our approach

Because Ransder was still exploring his concept, we used the MVP (Minimum Viable Product) approach during the project. The goal is to collect feedback as quickly as possible with an initial version of the website. Then we could test what works and what doesn't, and where best to continue developing.

Because Young Dedicated didn't have a website yet, we started from scratch with only a logo and Ransder's vision. We built on the existing logo with a matching brand identity for the website. Then we got to work on the job page, with an emphasis on visual elements to create a unique experience for the applicant.

For this, we created unique landing pages, personalized in the employers' brand style. Then we added visual elements such as videos, diagrams, career path and colleague overviews, and more. Of course, we also took UX on the website into account and subsequently provided the right call-to-actions.

Timeline

The job page starts with a clear bullet point list and diagram of the job details. Here too, the brand identity is clearly visible. The applicant sees the most important information at a glance.

Videos and company information

To complete the visual experience, there are also videos and company information with introductions of future colleagues. This way, the applicant knows exactly what to expect, not only from the position, but also from the company and work atmosphere. The pages are set up so that in the future, we can experiment with extra visuals and components.

Emphasis on visual elements

Through visuals and accompanying text, applicants can easily and quickly see why a job does or doesn't suit them. Growth opportunities and application procedures can also be found here, while images and text are alternated with call-to-actions and quotes. This distinguishes YoungDedicated from commonly used and generic job pages.

review

Young Dedicated about the collaboration

"I came into contact with Pim and Jeffrey through an acquaintance from the gym years ago, I had just started my business. When years later I was looking for an agency to build a website, I looked up Get Interactive for a collaboration. I had a good feeling about it, the contact, how they profile themselves in every step, from a nice proposal to phone calls and follow-ups; it was just good with these guys."

"During the development of the website and working with it (setting up and posting jobs, running online campaigns, responses from visitors, etc.) I gained many new insights that I didn't have before. I'm satisfied with what's there now, but there's still much to do. For example, it would be nice if we could add more visual items, for example in the section about what challenges you'll face. That's now a bullet point, which is fine as a basis, but it could be visually more attractive."

So a nice foundation has been laid for YoungDedicated, with even more room for growth and development. "I'm just satisfied! The first reactions from applicants, employers, and contacts are very positive. Nice job page, cool, fun; basically it's just good."

Now that a nice foundation has been laid, we'll continue developing according to the MVP method together with the client.
