Drakentemmers

A private community for therapists treating victims of domestic violence

Victims of domestic violence have become even more vulnerable during the corona crisis. At the same time, there is a shortage of therapists and a huge need to share knowledge. Drakentemmers went looking for a party to develop a platform for this and ended up at Get Interactive. Heidi from Drakentemmers tells you more!

Challenge

The challenge of Drakentemmers

There is a large national shortage of therapists for domestic violence, both for parents and children. To solve this problem, new therapists need to be recruited and/or trained.

Heidi: "We provide a lot of help to victims of domestic violence, and found out that the demand was much greater than the number of care providers who have expertise in this area. When we received a subsidy from the Ministry of Health and Welfare to train care providers more specifically and bring them into contact with each other, a platform seemed like a suitable means for this."

So our task was to develop a platform where therapists can communicate with each other and exchange knowledge/experience. Additionally, a lot of work is done with temporary assignments that need to be filled quickly.

Drakentemmers wants to bring available therapists and open assignments together on a national platform. "If you can bring that together, you have much more knowledge," according to Heidi.

Solution

Our plans

The wish was to have the website managed as much as possible by the members themselves. That's why we chose an automated registration and acceptance procedure. For the CMS environment, we divided different roles, each with their own rights and access options.

This way, an editor only has access to the CMS to create calendar items, while a professional can manage their own profile to indicate whether they are available for work. A company can also post vacancies or view which professionals are available for work.

We also helped with a newsletter for Drakentemmers. Members can sign up for a summary of what happened on the private part of the site. This update is sent by email daily, weekly, or monthly as desired in the form of a newsletter.

"The combination results in a private community where therapists can exchange knowledge and available therapists and vacancies come together."

Optimal use

Experience Design

We used wireframes to map out all user processes. These were presented and adjusted until a clickable prototype with all unique components was available. Here you can see, for example, the wireframes of the matching section.

Expertise platform

Private Community

The client's goal was to create a private community where therapists can exchange knowledge and where available therapists and vacancies/assignments come together on the matching page. We developed a registration and acceptance procedure so that therapists can register and are automatically added to the private community after a security check.

The Functionalities

  • Professionals: members can indicate their region, specialism, and level in a personal profile and whether they are available for new assignments.
  • Calendar: users can add calendar items via the website, for which members can register.
  • Knowledge base: members can clearly find information about domestic violence, child abuse, shelter, and care.
  • Matching: a page where available therapists and assignments come together.
  • Microsoft Teams: Drakentemmers has their own private Teams environment where they can chat and video call.
  • Forum: a place in the private section to connect with each other.

Kind words from our client

Drakentemmers about the collaboration

Heidi from Drakentemmers about the collaboration:

"I found the collaboration very pleasant! Because we started the project at the beginning of the corona crisis, I haven't seen anyone from Get Interactive in person, but nevertheless I still found it a very personal contact.

Heidi also sometimes deals with financial companies that she sometimes finds very rigid in communication: "They have certain knowledge and act as if you should just understand that. But this just went well together. Even when you probably thought 'this is really a basic thing' you were very helpful."

"I think the best thing is that there are just so many possibilities in the website; a calendar, an opportunity to have contact with each other within the community via Teams, a library of knowledge documents and videos, the matching tool.. That all of that is possible is really nice."

We are also very happy with the result and proud that we have contributed to this beautiful initiative!
